Friend and I decided we just couldn't wait any longer to go crappie fishing(white perch here). Didn't leave the dock until 11AM, temp about 90. Thankfully there was just enough wind to keep us from roasting. Found a few around noon.

We were using minnows and tried various depths. In 14' of water they were biting at 2'. Only landed six and two were really nice size.

All we caught had a slight yellow tinge to their color. Never seen that before. By 1:30 we'd had enough.

Glad we went.

I went on Monday, found them at 11:00 suspended at 5 to 6 feet in 12 feet of water. They would hit plastic jigs but really jumped on a small jointed Rapala diving crank bait.
