Have a drop dead 3X wood red pad era No. 1 Tropical in 458 Win Mag that almost never gets shot. (Hurts !)

Thinking about a nice 28" stainless bbl in the new WB chambering.

Yeah, I know it's silly but silly if often fun.

Suggestions on who can do it with a quick turnaround ?

thanks !

quick turnaround is subjective. I like your caliber choice but would caution against rushing a job.

There are 2 rules to success:

Well making a barrel is not rocket science. Turn the blank, thread, crown, chamber and cut the extractor groove.

one day at most.

I have a #1 in 6.5 Creed with a 28 inch barrel and it doesn't seem as long as it is. I don't think 30 would be unbearably long and if it is you can always cut some off.
A friend took a #1 in 30/06 and re barreled it to 405 Win to use in Ohio. Turn around time was a couple of weeks.

Lee Newton suggested a Ruger smith. Going 30" stainless, 5R riflling, true up action/block, same taper as 458 (continued out), remount scope rail, just < a grand, 6 months.

WB gets 3600 in 26" with 127 ..... 4 more inches should please the girls !
