Nice, but $1300 is a bit much.

Now that is a gorgeous factory rifle.

Not sure on Saturday price but Ruger retails are usually plenty high.

Well I like the rifle a lot. I'd not pay $1300 for it, but Ruger rifles are usually sold for quite a bit less than MSRP.

Yeah, that's just MSRP. There are two on gunbroker right now, one with a starting bid of $900 (899.99) but an unknown reserve and one with a fixed price of $1,005.93.

With just 250 made they could maintain that circa $1,000 price tag or some dealers could sell lower than that. I'd like to see what someone like Whittaker's would charge. And if they don't sell they could be pretty heavily discounted. Ruger #1's had an MSRP of over $1400 but those models that didn't sell out can be had for $900 or so.

But pricey or not, that's still a really nice looking rifle. Kudos to Lipsey's for ordering it.

Think of it as the answer to the Win super grade

Pretty cool as far as the 7X57 is concerned.

Not sure how you'd find something similar for less.

I agree, but I would have to see the piece of wood before I put my money down. Plane Jane won't cut it at that price.

Not many factory 7x57's made these days Sam. I am good with the Wisner built Swede and Walther Mauser.

I'm selling more than buying these days, but I agree with 308ld. That's a hefty price tag for a Ruger with plain wood.

Ruger made these for the rest of us.

I LOVE the look of that rifle, and I'd bet it feels just as good. But as hunting goes, my 22" #1A is way too handy.
Not that owning 2, .275's (7x57, 7mm Mauser, a rose by any other name) would be a bad thing, or that practicality should get in the way of such decisions........

I could have bought a Winchester push feed FWT about 18 years ago for the princely sum of $300.00. Was saving for a boat at the time. Still kicking my own a**.
Even with the #1, it sorta left me with a 7 Mauser bolt gun fetish.......

Although realistically they would add a cost most people wouldn't want to pay since most folks would never use them. But I sure hope this limited run sells out so that Lipsey's would be encouraged to expand the offerings to other calibers and, dare I hope, some LH offerings as well. I'd buy one of those, particularly with a nice slender 24" barrel, long before I'd plunk down money for a fugly heavyweight FTW or an ear blasting 16" .308 scout rifle. If they sell enough perhaps Ruger could offer a "super grade" type line as a standard feature.

I know the younger crowd is overwhelmingly buying tactical and precision type rifles but I hope there will always be a market for a fine handling and fine looking classic hunting rifle.

And they still have that lousy Ruger butt pad. First thing I would change, even if it is only a 7X57.

Not to worry tho- that thing is 800$ above of the price I'd pay for any rifle.

Bringing back the tang safety is a nice touch, as is the barrel band.

Is it also controlled round feed, or have they gone back to push feed?

Winchester resurrected the 7x57 in 2014 with a Supergrade featherweight version. Built about 160 of them. I bought one here on the 'Fire.

The only issue might be the .275 Rigby marking. Some countries will inspect the headstamp on your ammunition to verify that it matches the rifle you brought. If you happen to bring ammunition marked 7x57, they might make an issue of it. Trying to explain to a customs inspector that the .275 Rigby and 7x57 are the exact same cartridge could get tiresome. Just saying....
