These pics are from the last time I was there 2 years ago. My wife isn't going this time buy my long time partner is.

This is called Fishpole Lake. It's a group of 4 small lakes at about 9200'. The main lake is managed as as a trophy cutthroat lake, limit is 2 fish, none UNDER 20". No, I've never caught one even remotely that big.

How far is this from Twin Falls?

About 140 miles, the last 30 on gravel but its a good road until the last couple miles to the trailhead. Open maps.google.com and enter 'fishpole lake idaho'. It'll take you right to it. Then you can backtrack the road to your starting point. It's only a 2.5 mile hike in on a good trail.

Hey, you're still alive and kicking!
I was there earlier this week with my partner Paul. We had a great time. He's been hunting for most of his 72 years and that was the 1st time he's ever slept in a tent. Hard to believe.

In a couple weeks I'll be back up there with a group of Boy Scouts from our church. This'll be a 1st for most of them. I'm not sure they even know what a llama is.
It's dangerous though. The area's full of ninja chipmunks.

That's incredible looking country. You're lucky ... and I'm envious.
