I used the search function on here and came up empty - but know several folks have posted results from 280 AI using Re 26. Couldn't find much on here or a Google-fu search so thought I'd start the official 280 - Re 26 thread. I'm curious with the bigger 7mm bullets - 160 and 175. Anyone developed any 280 or 280 AI loads with Re 26, especially 160/175?

Curious as well with the 162gn ELD-X and RL26. I have a load developed for the 150gn ABLR that shoots great so far. Shoots in the 1's when I do everyrhing right from the bench.

Here is the link to my post on it.

ny - that is the thread I was thinking about.

Did you buy a new Kimber with the threaded muzzle cap?

Blueprinted Remington
25" #3 Bartlein

60.5 grs RL26 / 168 Berger VLD / Fed 210M = 2950FPS

I ran it a little hotter and never really saw pressure signs, but 60.5 really shined with accuracy

60.5 seems to be about where the magic happens

I can get more speed easily 3100 fps plus, but accuracy is so good at 60.5 there is no need.

Interesting. 60.0 is my load for the 270 win and 150 Partitions.

Thanks for the info. I ran up to 61.5 with the 160 Accubond and could feel a slightly stiffer bolt lift so dropped back to your same load of 60.5 as I had no ideal what the real pressure is. R26 seems to not show any of the voodoo signs until your really up there pressure wise. Running right around 2950 fps which is what some of my 7RM loads run at so who needs more velocity? The 280 has a 25" barrel vs 7RM at 23" so that accounts for some of the difference. With more load work I think R26 in the 7RM will get me to 3100 but haven't gotten back to that rifle yet.

As soon as I order some of the 162gn ELD-X, I'll let everyone know how they shoot with that combo. I have some 150 ABLR loaded up with 62 gns of RL26. If Iever get to the range, I'll report back on it.

Just tried out some 150LRABs, 24" Broughton

61gr [bleep] accuracy, 3012 avg
61.5 got a vertical string, shows promise, and 3056 agv.
62 fell apart in accuracy, 3098 agv
