I lashed out and purchased a new Winchester model 70 supergrade in 7mm/08 recently and I reckon it's OK.

Here a few pics.

Pretty rifle. What scope are you planning on using?

Another good choice. Seriously, those two 2.5-8, and 3.5-10 are my two favorite scopes for hunting rifles. I might go lower on a "big rifle", and I might go different if I had more money to spend on a 4x or 6x range, like 3-12 or 2-12. But in the 3x range of adjustment, I really like those.

An absolutely beautiful rifle in one of my favorite chamberings! May I ask some of the particulars such as barrel length, length of pull & approx weight, My two favorite rifles are two Super Grades in 338 Win Mag. Both with figured stocks. One 1960 vintage and the other about 1994 or so.
Congrats on that fine rifle and thanks for any info concerning it!

Beautiful rifle, especially the wood. I bought one recently and the finish on the stock was so thick and cloudy you couldn't see the grain, I stripped it and am almost finished refinishing it.
