Got a chance to head up north a couple weeks ago for work, also managed some trout fishing on the weekend. We were just bouncing from trout hole to trout hole in North Central Pa. We hit the spot that produced the biggun' about 10 am, not expecting much. First fish hooked pulled drag and felt heavy (especially after reeling in dinks), buddy said it was a sucker/carp, I didnt think so and continued playing it, trying to keep it out of the various snags. I was happy I did after landing it. He went back in afterwards.
Later in the day, about 2pm we stumbled on a hole that had some very large rainbows and brownies. With the midday sun high, they weren't interested. Had one chase a Rapala, that was about it. We'll be back another day. Saw 2 bears driving back to hotel, all in all a good day.

We referred to that as fishing with "Garden Hackle Peacocks" when I was a kid.

I figured the hotel microwave wouldnt do him justice and they'd prolly frown up me building a campfire in the parking lot 😀
