I've heard that Lipseys will not be the exclusive distributor anymore...I've seen the .450 Bushamster abortion. But Lipsey's is also listing some new rifles--a 1A .30-06, a 1B .22-250, and a 1V .204R, The MSRP of $1800+ may be the final straw for me when there are still several that can be had on Gunbroker for less than $1K.

Anybody know for sure what is going on? Or what the street prices may be if any of the above do make it to dealers?

Nobody has heard a word about the 2017 models. Frankly, I think it's just about done.

It may be as simple as that the last run hasn't sold yet. Excess inventory in the pipe makes it hard to sell more. Hell, there are some still available online for $900 or so from previous runs. Goofy-ass stuff like that .450 doesn't help that situation.

The last run of the 450 Bushmasters was "presold" to dealers. I am suspecting they have just about made the number ordered. The misc No.1's that Lipsey's has were made last year when it appears the Factory was maybe just filling the line for a short run.
I don't have a clue about what is next, but I believe Lipsey's is working on another Exclusive; a K1A, or possibly a K1RSI. Nothing is guaranteed here!!

Didn't we hear Lipseys was finished with the #1? I hope they aren't, I have 5 or 6 Lipseys number ones, and I sure would hate to see this old girl go away. But, methinks it ain't lookin' good.

Got a 1A 7x57 and a 1(forget the letter) .45-70.
Would still like a .375 and, for some weird reason, a stainless laminated .45-70 and/or 7mm Mag.
Hate to see them go, but the new one's I've seen are pretty plain for $1,800.00.
I did look at a new .375 at a Cabelas a while back that looked like my 13 year old nephew had inletted the tang while playing on his I-pad.

Guessing I can probably buy a pretty nice model 70 .375 for $1800.00.

Ruger stock in 2017 - high of $68.45, currently $48.25. Negative for the year. $1,800 #1's in dumb-azz calibers isn't going to help. Especially when older nicer ones are available cheaper!

All I know is jays sporting goods in Gaylord MI is selling all the no1 rifles for 975. Grabbed a 1a in 280 and an rsi in 257 roberts.
I think the 375 will come home with me next trip.

I sure hope it's not the end for these fine rifles.

Thats almost as Bad as the 450 Bushmasters with the Tank Muzzle Brakes. It taskes a lifetime to build a beautiful collection of Ruger No1 Rifles then an Idiot comes along and designs an abortion called the 450 Bushmaster which completely ruins the looks of everything previously built.
Why couldn't Ruger build a Ruger Creedmoor Rifle like WBR designed. A beautiful 34 inch half Octagon half Round Barrel in 45-110 then you could still shoot 45-70 in it. That would enhance the Value of any collection instead of destroying it.

Oh well its just like the USA has evolved by the Democrat Liberal movement, a FREE country to a Chaos society.
When the Muslims come to power they will eliminate everything Progressive and turn it into more Chaos.

Sure glad I won't be around to see the future.

I am a little slow. I assume this was a joke?

It does strike me as odd, all those years we had Winchester struggling in New Haven, building a push feed model 70 and angle eject 94. I read there was no market for the old guns like a model 92. Well eventually we got a control feed m70. I think the future owners already had a say in things. Look today, there is a lot of money to be made producing the whole Winchester line up from the model 1874 forward! Very expensive Japanese built guns. Ruger 'seems' to be alive and well. I hope they stay that way. I hear more and more dealer commenting on ruger quality slipping and customer complaints. And seems like the focus is on all the low end guns. It used to be the high end stuff boosted the company reputation. A new customer might start out with entry level gun and later when more successful in life could move to the higher end product. That all assumes a positive experience with the intro level product.

anyway, I got mine and like doc(?) said. I dont have that much longer to grouse about it. On the other hand, now I can buy all the old model Winchesters that were just a dream years ago. I dont care where they are made. Not any more. And no shortage of used No1's with little chance of anything I want coming along. Remember the Lyman No1?

I don't think Ruger quality has slipped at all, but the emphasis is where the current money is to be made- econo-rifles, ARs, and such. All the Ruger rifles I've bought in the last few years have been entirely satisfactory, and good buys as I have yet to pay retail. The wood on my latest, a Number 1, is nice, if not fancy, and I don't think I could have gotten a much nicer new rifle for under $900 from anyone. Those foreign Winchesters are nicer, I think than what was coming out of New Haven at the last, and the only difference between the SC M70s and the latest version is the final assembly point. The actions and barrels are made here, the stocks in Portugal, just like before (I mention this, not for you, since you don't care, but for others outraged by modern economics).

The 1873s from Miroku are probably better guns than the originals, from all I've read. Have no use for one at all, but they sure look nice.
