We are in the middle of an amazing Swedish fish run.
It's almost time for 15 year old look at me pictures. LOL.

Blackberry cobbler and slough berries looked to be on the menu. A lead injection ruined everyone's appetite. Only seen one branch bull this morning and about 30 deer.

Hey Fred, you headed down to Texas? Get ready for the humidity and heat, unless you stay up in North Texas or hunt on land that borders the Gulf.

Looking at going this winter.

It's going to be a 7wsm. That ruger action ain't short and it ain't long. But it will be perfect for the wsm.

Oh, January, OK. Texas has two seasons: Summer and January.

Wow! I imagine it so deeply you can see it as well. Not the biggest but it will eat well and saving fawns and calves is always a bonus.

Fred, the 7 WSM was let to eat on a nice 225-250 #er yesterday at 578yds via my buddies 13 yo kid as he didn't feel his win 70 .308 and vxii 3-9 was up to the task despite my ensuring him it would. Should have taken video as the conversation leading to the shot was likely epic and ended after the shot with me telling him to wipe the jhizz off my rifle and the smile off his face. Bastard thought 578 was difficult and couldn't believe it was just a small correction for wind and elevation.

Little bastard offered me $750 for it and couldn't believe he needed to add a zero IF he could talk me into selling it. He seriously thought a GAP rifle and Kahles scope "couldn't be worth much more then $1k new". Damn kids these days.....

Shot was quartering behind inside shoulder and out the throats and yogi simply dropped. That 180 ELD is still flying for all I know and terminal performance was nails.

Still need to find me a bear worth burning a tag on here soon.

I'll see if my buddy has any, I was too busy trying to find a route out of the hell hole we shot it in to pay attention to what if any pictures got taken. Seeing shootbale game talks a guy into dumb [bleep]. Shot was from one ridge over the top of a finger with a sheer cliff to the far ridge. Only route to the near was straight up and down x2 ridges each way. The things a normally somewhat sane guy will do for a kid to burn a tag. Shot the bear at 0635 am and back to the truck at 1645, my back is still in protest as I was adamant we do the pack in one trip.

Good times but I need to start hunting them in areas with atleast closed logging roads to drag atleast the game cart down though I prefer my old yard cart for game hauling on flat ground.

May take a stab at it again Sunday if I can con someone into going with me.

My kinda cowboy hat. Guy makes them from local woods. Pretty amazing wood work. He will even make them sized to fit.

This one fits momma perfectly.

Looks like the creed hit with plenty of ass left in the bullet. Currently working up a pair of 6 Grendel's with my old man that we built a few weeks ago. It's a blast for sure spending time with that old bastard.

The hat is very impressive but I drop em too often so it probably wouldn't last me long.
