Anyone had good luck with hornady brass? I got a 6.5 creedmoor on order and hornady seems to be the most popular an I and was wondering if there brass stands up good to multiple reloads

I've had excellent results with Hornady 308 Win. Match brass, accuracy and durability wise.

Likewise for the .243 brass I have.

Bought some Nosler bulk at a good price based on the excellent boxed .223 I have, and it's about 20 grains heavier and holds several grains less water, filled to the neck. Gotta wonder if it's from an outside supplier as a recent mag article listing capacities of current .243 had the Nosler as the roomiest.

I'll use it of course, but the Hornady is my standard for the .243 for now. Excellent neck uniformity too, so far.

pseshooter300,

In my experience Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor brass lasts a long time when used with published reloading data.

The handloaders who find Hornady brass doesn't list long seem to be those who try to turn their 6.5 Creedmoors into 6.5/.284's.

I've been using the same 150 pieces of Hornady 6.5CM in two rifles for LR plinking and HP silhouette rifle for almost 2 years now, and I've not lost a single piece. I've had to re-anneal the necks twice but even after 8-10 firings, the brass is going strong. BTW, the Lee collet neck sizer die works great!!

Pursuit may be, it seems to me, perfect without possession.

I have 4-5 reloads on two separate batches of Hornady 6.5 CM brass (1 batch for each of 2 rifles) and it is still going strong. I'm also using reformed Hornady 270 Win brass in my 256 Newton and it is holding up just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy Hornady again. I did just order 50 pieces of Starline brass for a new to me 243. I've had good luck with the Starline stuff in 40-65 and 38-55, this will be my first go around with their bottleneck cases.

I am waiting on mounts, before I can shoot my new Creedmoor, but I have been stocking up on factory ammo. There are a few sales going on right now, and Cabela's has loaded Nosler and Hornady ammo that isn't that much more expensive than new brass.

The Hornady Whitetail ammo is $18.39 a box, loaded with 129gr Interlocks.

The Nosler 140gr BTHP Match ammo is $21.74 a box, and the 140gr Ballistic Tip variety is $22.49per box.

.416 Rigby, 7x64 Brenneke and .300 H&H all good. However, chamfer well after uniforming any neck dings from manufacture. Check your first reload for feeding/correct loading to be sure it fits. Cheers!

I have Hornady in 308 and 480 Ruger. I had some for my 375 Ruger. I really like Hornady brass. In fact, I just bought some 30-06 Hornady brass. I like it better than Rem and Win.
