Anyone know what the actual BC is for this bullet? I know it's not as good as Nosler claims, but curious if it's been tested or verified.

Also, anyone have any on-game experience to share?

I loaded some up in a 7mm08 on a whim, after disappointing groups with several 140 gr bullets and they shoot great. I'm thinking of loading up a couple dozen and killing some deer this fall with them.

Actually, Bryan Litz's range testing showed the 150 ABLR's G1 BC is pretty close to the .611 Nosler lists.

As Litz points out, BC varies somewhat with velocity. At over 3000 fps he lists the G1 as .643, more than Nosler's number. For your purposes in the 7mm-08 it will average about .595 from a muzzle velocity of around 2800 fps down to 2000 fps. The G7 over the same range will be around .295.

While the ABLR's aren't as tough as standard AccuBonds, at moderate muzzle velocities they work very well, as just about any big game bullet does at 7mm-08 velocities, one reason it has such a great reputation. It will work fine on deer.

Next question. Can someone run the numbers for me out to 1000 yd? I'm guessing that strelock doesn't account for the changing BC with drop in velocity?

I shot out to 1000 yesterday. First time ever past 400. My drop calcs on strelock at 400 and 500 seemed to be spot on but when we moved to 800 I was about 12-18" low and at 1000, I missed the whole target, presumably low.

2750 fps
22" barrel
1.75" height of scope above bore.

I guess the other possibility is that my scope adjustments aren't exactly 1/4 moa per click?
It's a Leupold vx3 . I used the B&C recticle out to 500 and then started cranking knobs past that.

I'm hoping I can get the Nosler 168AB shooting well out of my 7x57 for the same reasons. I'm thinking it will be a good all arounder for deer/hogs and elk, especially if I can get over 2700fps with it or even close to it.

Yeah, I've had the same notion with the 168 ABLR and 7x57. Unfortunately haven't had time to try it yet!

I haven't played with the 168 ABLR and the 7x57, but have had great luck with the 162 ELD-X in my 7x57. Getting an avg of 2715 with H4350 and great accuracy.

Nosler shows 150 grain ablr @ 3240 (7mm Remington magnum) with IMR 4350 anyone have experience with that or another powder that delivered comparable velocity? I have a box of these enroute and am going to try them in a 7 rem mag.

My 7mm08 shoots the 175 ABLR into cloverleaves at about 2600 feet per second.

They just shoot really good. Load development was a breeze. I use Ramshot HUNTER almost exclusively in my 7mm08.

Sounds like a great load, those sleek 175's are going to shoot pretty flat even at 2600 fps.
