Hard to go wrong with any Benchmade. Great American Made knives. And their customer service department is second to none based on my experiences with them in the past.
I don't own any ZT knives, so I can't speak to them.

Not all Benchmades are American made. All ZT knives are American made. I use to be a Benchmade fan, still like them but I'm leaning toward the thought that Benchmade is over priced for the quality of knife being produced. The Axis Lock is a slick lock, but there are a lot of cool locks out there now. ZT's frame lock flippers are solid. I have a ZT 0450 and it's a nice knife for the money. Spyderco has some great blades too and their Compression Lock is excellent.

I have yet to see a ZT knife that I like the looks of. The Barrage on the other hand, looks like a knife should.

I have both the Barrage and the mini Barrage as well as this ZT https://www.amazon.com/Zero-Toleran...&keywords=zero+tolerance+knives+0566All are good knives, none are my favorite, but I like the Barrage a lot better. The ZT is harder to open and close, but my guess it that it might take more abuse. I like that the ZT is thinner and the G-10 scales are a little classier than plastic, but both are heavier than I like. I still prefer the Griptilian and min Griptilian better. I'd let the ZT go at a good price if interested.

If you're looking at a knife that large have you considered a Spyderco Paramilitary 2?

I have owned and carried the Mini Barrage for about 4 years, it's a good solid EDC knife.
Now that I'm living in the land of the Free, I carry a Microtech "Ultratech".......
