Do you think has field dressed the most critters i the last 20 years? Last 10 years?

My vote is the Buck 110 ...

What do you think?

one of those questions that is impossible to address. I processed a hog or so with a Buck 110 when I was a kid. Soon found better tools. Old Timer sharp finger has cleaned a bunch.

I would guess that Marbles, Case, and Shrades account for some too--
And Barlows too

I'd say you're probably right. Folks of average intelligence and manual dexterity don't need a 300.00 knife to dress a deer.

Buck 110 is probably as good of a guess as anything. If you restrict it to fixed blades I would say Buck 119.

I've probably seen more cleaned with a Case folding hunter than anything. Seems that's what most from my dads generaton around here used.

110 around here by a large margin. Buck was THE knife.

I agree with your supposition about Buck's model 110. Quality is quite good and built to be affordable for the masses. My sole complaint is that it's a bit more difficult to clean after field dressing than a fixed blade. But this minor concern has not prevented me from continuing to use it year after year.

There are many copies of Buck knives available as well. I bought my nephew a Schrade LB7 and he likes it a lot! It's been to Iraq and back twice.

Don't know how it is in other parts of the country but here in the south, every little town in "the country" where there is enough surrounding woods to hunt deer has at least one deer processing outfit and the vast majority of guys I have hunted with in the last 30 years use them, even the "country boys". They just drag the deer to a pickup and take it down the road to the processor with the guts in it.

Once there, the deer is dressed, skinned and butchered by a Mexican with a Dexter-Russell boning knife. While not "field dressing", given the number of deer people can and do kill in the South, and the widespread use of commercial processors I submit that the Dexter boning knife has processed more deer than anything else in the last 20 plus years.

Cant imagine doing that...

No [bleep]! Guts come out asap as well as washing as much blood out as possible as quickly as possible.
I'd guess way less than half do that here.
