I've been considering a Bushnell Elite 3-12x44 LRHS for a precision AR-15 build I'm putting together. I've read through the threads posted here when the scope first was introduced and it looks like a great fit, particularly the reticle and capped windage-turret. I haven't found very many recent reports on this scope, however. If you've got one, how has it been holding up for you? Any regrets in choosing it?

I've got a couple of them, and played with a couple more. My oldest is a few years old and there have been zero issues, and that's after a whole lot of dialing, bumping around, and competition. No regrets at all. Definitely a best-value scope in the price range...

I've had mine since they came out, it's always worked right and I'm still a fan. I've heard the new ones got 100 spline turret shafts, which is one of the improvements a few of us were asking for.

A bud and I recently ordered a couple of new 3-12x's, and they both have 50 spline turrets. I'm wondering if the 100 spline thing is reality, or just rumour.

I picked up another LRHS in July and it still has the 50 spline turrets.
As for long term reliability, I have one that's getting close to the 2000 round count. I haven't had a problem with it yet, but it's still early. I prefer it over the SWFA variables and SHV for my applications.

One of our local match shooters has had two 4.5-18 LRHS's, an older one and a new one. The new one has 100 spline. Beyond that I've only heard rumors myself.

Excellent optic, durable and very usable reticle. Recently used mine in Africa and discovered how handy the "donut of death" is at the short ranges with magnification down on low power. My only complaint is the field of view is a bit narrow but that is comparing to 2nd focal plane Leupold VX 5 HD with same size objective.
I own two of them and would not sell either, repeatable adjustments, always returns to zero and super durable.

I've seen more well-shot game lost with TSXs than any other premium bullet.

I contacted Bushnell and they happily sent me a 100 spline turret cap. Works good. John "John, Just wanted to touch base with you. With the early LRHS optics and several of the Elite Tactical’s they used a 50 spline turret, which could cause issues with the turret seating/locking in true .1 mil increments. We have an order of 100 spline turrets on the way, but I haven’t heard yet from my parts manager if they’ve been checked in yet. To get the ball rolling though if you want to reply to this email with a good address I’ll get a parts order started so that once the new 100 splines turrets get checked in we can get one out to you ASAP. All best, Dan Merrick Service Technician Dealer Services Bushnell Holdings, Inc."

I've had mine for a couple of years and it's pulled duty for about 500 rounds on a smokeless muzzleloader and about another 500 rounds on a 7mm Rem Mag and has been flawless except I need to get a new 100-spline cap because I'm always .1 MRAD off "0". This year I used it on an AR-10 for the first 400 rounds and shot 2 matches where I finished 1st and 5th. If you dual purpose the scope and you hold there will be times you wish the reticle had more wind but it's still useful. I like it well enough I'm buying an LRTS for the gasser.
