We asked the same of some sports folks in medicine and rehab many years ago. Mostly in reference to competition rifle but it drifted to archery too...

Ends up the answer was always the same. Do what you are going to do if at all possible, not something else in hopes that it might help....

Kinda along the lines of what Gramps told me when I was a young man, "Don't ever quit doing what you want to do and chances are you wont have too" he made it 92 years living that creed. wink

Nothing like dumbbell rows to strengthen the back muscles that cause the shakes to set in while drawn. Holding a progressively heavier dumbbell at arms length while standing (or sitting) in your shooting stance will take care of the bow weight problem that we all experience. At 73 years young, I find I have to start the exercise program earlier and earlier every year, but it pays huge dividends come mid September!

If you cannot shoot get a "Can't fire" release.

With the "Can't fire" release you can even practice form as well as practice squeezing that trigger.

Those are cool. May have to order the index finger one for this winter

I shoot every day. 8 yards in the garage is enough to keep the fluid flowing.

Shot mine today. I have room at home. Got it out, shot 12 times every couple hours. Probably feel it tomorrow.

Practice make perfect. Shoot frequently is my advice.
