4th you suck. Monster kudu in Namibia! I missed a honest 60 incher!!! 400 plus yard shot with my 375. I still have nightmares about that monster. Made up for it by getting a leopard.

I missed a chance at a 60 incher in Namibia, in thick stuff with a couple cows. Doing the hands and knees crawl when a cow stuck her head under the brush and eyeballed us from about 15 yards....she didn't like what she saw, barked once and it was over....

Returned yesterday noon and had a Blast! laugh

It will take some time to sort all the photos taken and post a selection here - I plan to do that over the weekend.

My "female supervisor" and I got 4 Oryx, 2 Eland, 2 Blue Wildebeest, 1 Black Wildebeest, 1 Hartebeest, 1 Steenbok and 2 Warthogs. cool

Would've loved to take a Kudu as well (came across 2 good bulls), but the price tag was a little too high for this year's budget. But that is okay, one more reason to go back to Namibia grin

The gun is a 9.3x62 Mauser 98 with unknown history that crossed my path a couple of years ago. It was restocked for the trip. The Action is probably FN-made, likely to have been produced in the sixties. I'd love to pretend that I used fancy bullets like Barnes Vor-TX or similar, but actually all game was taken using 286 grs Sellier & Bellot soft points. blush
Scope used was a DDOptics 2.5-15x50 (not the Redfield on the above photo)

Looking forward to pics! I got a Kudu but not the one I was looking for. So yes, a trip back is in order. I think it's a PH trick to get us back. And yes, it will work.

I went to Namibia the last 3 weeks of August. Kudu took a hit from the drought and rabies. Saw a bunch of young ones, only 1 mature.

I had a blast- leopard, sable, red lechwe, blesbok, gemsbok, zebras, warthogs and jackals.

I went with Leopard Legend Safari's. I highly recommend L'wyk- just an absolutely fantastic time. Just perfect for my first trip to Africa.

There you go, I'm not getting along well with this new image gallery function, but it'll do for a start:

First stop of our gang in transit to the farm wink

First stalk with Tangeni on the day of our arrival:

Her first namibian prey:

Second, not much later, gold medal bull:

My warthog, not a big one, but I found it on my own smile

A VERY old black wildebeest cow taken with an excellent shot:

Good Steenbok, a dream came true for her:

Tame cheetah, don't ask me why the image is upside down:

Tame suricate inspecting my mouth:

Tangeni and me, rejoicing my Eland after approaching it for almost an hour going low:

Her Eland, also a very long and demanding stalk:

Last minute Hartebeest...not much of a stalk, but there it is:
