So what's the rate of twist in your barrel?

My .243 AI likes 41.5 H-4350 not a max load but very accurate with 105 Scenars, the best hunting combo I have found for pigs and white tails.

I have loaded R=22 but haven't shot it yet.

Tanner,

Sorry I doubted you. Shot 1/2" groups today with 47.0 of 7828 SSC with the 105 BTHP and the 105 AMAX.

47.5 was good, 48 less so.

But the 47 grain load was the same POA for the AMAX and the BTHP at 100.

Thanks!

I never did get around to shooting it across the chrono (haven't done much shooting or hunting in a while) but I'm also going to see how the Scenar and Berger Hybrids do too, hopefully soon.

All the info I gathered would indicate she's running pretty hot but I never had any warning signs and proceeded slowly.

Moly 105 Amax (kissing), 48.5gr 7828SSc, CCI BR2, Lapua case

Couldn't edit the post (too old) but details matter and I just now caught where I listed the wrong case. A minor thing more than likely but wanted to correct it.

Has anybody tried RL 26 or IMR 7977 with 100 grainers?

Here's to hoping the 45grains of RL17 hits 3200. That would do right fine now wouldn't it.

Climate is a little more mellow at my latitude and longitude but it's headed for 100+ here as well. Might be a really good chance to see what that load will take/give. It was developed at about 65*. Might just load a few and run them for numbers hit the red line back off and see how it shoots for accuracy in the heat.

Just got around to trying rl26. 105hpbt.

At 49.5.gns. I got 3208 fps. 1" at 100yards.
49 3155 fps. .665" at 100 yards. Coal was 2.765".
I'm sure once I get the rifle cleaned and in a touch less wind it will do even better.

But 3155 in a 22" barrel. Is more that I was hoping for.

Pretty sure that 50 grains would be about max.
I am using GFL brass a guy may snag another grain or two room in some Lapua and pick up 50 or 100 ft.

Bumping this..I'd like more info on the latest powders with the latest VLD's. Especially interested in RL-26 and 108 E-match, but more info on all loads put in easy to find spot is never a bad thing. Keep posting them up fellas!

Hitting 3200 with heavy brass and no pressure was a breeze with RL 26 my gun liked 49 grains at 3170fps. From a 22" barrel I'm sticking with 26
Lapua brass at 50 or 51 grains should get even better. Put the hurt on a yote at 494yards didn't do bad on the head shot. Lol.
