Is anyone else as maladroit as I am in dealing with the plastic bag that they come in? Given the bag and the grade of paper that the magazines (particularly the covers) are printed on, I all too often tear them when opening the bag. Just when I have gotten more delicate in dealing with them, my wife helpfully tore open and into the latest issue. Doesn't seem to be a problem with any of the other magazines that arrive here. To save some of the anticipated "helpful" replies, yes, I realize that I could walk over and dig a scissors out of the junk drawer, but I don't see why that should be necessary. Also, being a dinosaur,I do not care for reading books or magazines on-line.

A while back we had someone who couldn't fight his way into a box of bullets. Now we have you who can't fight his way into a plastic bag. But then, even a dinosaur's teeth will go dull after a while.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

I just grab - front and rear near a seam, and pull the seam apart. I like the plastic covers, as I send old magazines with a buddy to the VA hospital in ABQ. Don't have to obliterate my address, name, etc.

I thought sure this would be a complaint about the content - or even notice that they've ceased publication.

Definitely a First World Problem. Given that this is the only world we have - all problems are first world problems. As to the OP - man, I hope you never try and get out of the car with your seatbelt still on. THAT'S a damned lesson above the "magazine in a bag". Just waiting for someone to say that the only magazines that come in bags are porno rags...

Rocky - I figured that that horse has already sailed. I was just trying to poke a bit of fun at myself and see if anyone else was as hopeless as I am in such matters. Getting a couple of sermons on concern with such trivial matters was just a side benefit.
Teal - the seat belt thing is another area that I have well-covered. It is especially exciting when exiting from the elevated position of my truck, with a stack of mail in my right hand and a plastic bag of groceries in my left.

5s, Do like I do. Just leave them in the bags. There's nothing worth reading in them anyway. Just kidding, JB...

Did it once getting out of the KW. I tend to run the belt a bit loose if we were running all day. Stopped at the yard and went to hop out from the top floor to the basement - except for the damned seatbelt just about took my head clean off.

Why is it you shouldn't have to open it with scissors? Do you also complain when you get boxes without an easy open tab?

Anyone who is so.lazy or dumb they need internet advice to unwrap a magazine, really should just sell their guns and reloading to someone more mentally competent..
And then check into the nearest nursing home.

If you open the bag, it will lose its value as a collectible.

Just throw them in the fireplace. Once the plastic melts off the magazine is more easily accessible.
