Screws obviously need to be timed.

I'm beginning to ponder what I can sell.

Pre-64s, Stainless Classic Featherweights, and just about any model 70 with quality custom metal and wood.

I feel your pain. Found a early Classic Super Grade just today that I really "need".
What can I sell was in my mind all day.

Unless you have actually held this gun in your hands and you are having trouble sleeping without it --
I do not think that this is a good purchase.

The "collector" value is low
Warranty is probably voided
Not many buyers out there for this gun
Seller joined Guns International only two months ago
What do you think you are getting for just shy of $3000

Two days ago this Pre-64 375 H&H from 1960 sold on Gunbroker for $1675

I'd say go for it, all the mods look well done and with the 3 day return that's a lot of gun for the money as long as you're buying it to be put to use.

Africa isn't in my foreseeable future. I do however have dies, brass and bullets on the shelf along with a 2.5-8 Zeiss Conquest.

The stock is by Elrod; to duplicate that would cost the price of the rifle itself.

I've emailed the seller asking if he has provenance on the Elrod stock.

.

Recoil is about twice a .30-06 or .308
How many rounds do you plan on shooting per year

I see why the stock would be expensive

Well, sell stuff quick before that rifle's GONE..

Looking closely at each pic, there's a LOT of work that went into that build - not to mention that stock; that alone is (IMHO) in the $2,000++ range.. "Custom" barrel is right - man, that's a strange (but interesting) contour graduation between shank and taper.. Talk about a 'sharp shoulder'!!!! Hell, those sights, bands etc., alone are in the $400 range installed...

And (sigh of relief) that's a NH rifle, not a freakin' BACO...

Gopherit... and make it snappy. smile

That is a nice hunting rifle. Damn collector value! You couldn't build one for that price by a long shot.

Here is my 2 cents worth of useless information. If you want a 375 then you should have one, I love my Pre64 and wouldn't think of selling it and my African days are behind me. You can't build it for that money. The 375 as you know is a very versatile round and should you decide to add it to the harem I have some reduced loads that are ideal for deer.
If you need to sell something I know of a Pre64 M70 FWT 270 that would sell quickly.....just saying:)

Grins....I haven't even shot that one yet! grin

I don't need a .375, I have no use for a .375, I sold a perfectly good Dakota a while back in 375, and yet here we are.

The seller assures me that he can provide provenance that Elrod stocked the rifle.

I have not yet made up my mind. I'm half hoping someone buys it.

Serious question, do you think those sights are usable with those double square bridge bases?

I think you could see and use those sights just fine over the bases.
