Congrats, that is a nice one. You can shoot .480 Rugers in a .475 LInebaugh, BTW

That's certainly nice wood! For what it's worth, in last couple of years, my experience is that about 1/5 have wood like shown above, or better. 2/5 are just nice, and the bottom 2/5 are just plain!

If it is ok, I'd like to ask what is the current price from an assumed brick & mortar gun shop?

Probably going to be in the mid-1400's.

Too bad. Thanks, that is a 40% jump in one year. That confirms what I read already, here I believe or someplace. It maybe was based on the sticker price that increased a corresponding amount. It is not a show stopper but; it will certainly slow me down quite a bit. I guess, now used No1s at cableas will be $1500 to $1600. Not joking here, I wish I could do private sales to their customer base.

There's a 460 listed at $1295 on Gunbroker. Even at that price you're getting close to being able to buy a used No.1 and re-barrel it with a proper length barrel.

I bet they sit around and say 'We can sell 500 Number 1's if we chamber them in 43 Egyptian'

Any #1 that comes my way will get a restock just because they are butt ugly. I recently picked up one in 450-400 and am looking for new wood. SCgunnut you did very will with that one.

FWIW there is a nice international in 7X57 on Guns International.
