On the way to the farm to hunt and just outside the city limits struck a heavy eight point buck. $6250. damage to front and left side of my 2009 Nissian frontier. Small cut on hand and rub rash from the air bag. My first attempt at crossbow hunting. Kinda took the wind out of my sails. May have to stick with the Savage 99's, never hit a deer when I was headed out to hunt with a 99. GW

Glad you're okay. I had 4 cross in front of me on the way to hunt in November about 15 years back and took out a fawn. Came out better than you, but it was pure luck. Did kill my mood for the trip.

Unfortunately impact was hard enough that nothing but the antlers were salvaged. Wasn't in the mood at the time or could have hauled it to the farm to shoot coyotes off of. GW

I've hit 4 deer with vehicles. You've got some catching up to do!

Think I will pass on the catching up with you Greg. Neighbor at the farm has had three different collisions with deer in the last four years. All within a one mile strip on our road. Guess he hasn't figured it out. Told him he needed to get an anti deer whistle for his vehicles.GW

My Dad put those whistles on his truck and never hit a deer afterwards. But, for the 50 years he drove before putting them on, he never hit one either, Joe.

I had a buck charge me as I passed by. Managed to dodge him (deer can't outrun a Toyota 4x4). They exhibit some strange behavior during the rut.
