Thanks for the info dudes.

While drop testing the 4x ProD, the emblem popped off the side. Still held zero.

It sounds like those are better than my experiences with the variables. I have owned two, both I believe were the 44Mag(?). Both seemed like good, clear scopes and both failed on a 6mm and .308. They were the last ultra-cheap scopes that I have owned.

I haven't used this Simmons scope before but I have used a few Leupold and NF scope and my service grade M1 garand, you will definitely get good scope to fit the use or precision you are aiming for, the problem here is the price factor.

4th point, I don't remember, that was at least twenty five years ago. The scope came on a rifle that I traded for and lay on my work bench for a few months. All I remember is Simmons, and that I gutted it at shot two.

Best wishes,

Jack

To expand your parameter’s a bit I did some testing of my own a few years ago. I used Nikon’s PROSTAFF 3-9x40 BDC ( sub $150 at this time) scope on my Brown Precision sub 6 pound .375 H&H rifle. I sighted in my rifle, Thank goodness only 3 shots to get zeroed. Luckily there were 3 guy’s shooting AR’s next to me who were interested in my big bore rifle. I gave them the opportunity to shoot and with all their testosterone they put 56 rounds through my rifle. Absolutely no change in the zero from my initial zero shot. I took the last shot and impact was dead on. Let me tell you, the barrel was hot as heck too and that didn’t even change the impact of the 300 gr projectiles. I absolutely do not recommend ever shooting 60 rounds of .375 H&H ammo at the range but it was fun watching these guys shoot and wince after every shot. Best of all the entry lever PROSTAFF scope held up like a champ. I drug it out of the safe last year to hog hunt with it. Big fun but after one shot and one hog I went back to my .223.
