A bunch of NIB LH Model 77 .30-06's recently showed up on gunbroker priced around $550 to about $563, the seller at the latter price is showing 20 on hand and one of the others is saying they have multiples as well.

These are the latest version before they quit making them, satin blue and walnut. Not sure why they're suddenly showing up in quantity like this, maybe someone moved some old boxes at a distributor's and found them hidden in a corner. wink

Or, maybe Ruger is making a few limited runs of left handers in different calibers and this is the first of them. That would be nice. If anybody knows for sure I'm all ears.

The ones I found

In the past year or two I have picked up a LH Ruger 77 Hawkeye in .25-06 and a couple in 7mm-08 and all are nice rifles. Well made and shoot very well, too. Didn't have to test very many loads to have them shooting good groups.

Looks like new old stock.
Buds has them for $515 cash and Davidson's has them on sale with tax shipping etc $535 from a local dealer.
Could certainly use a 30-06 to pair with my T3 6.5x55, don't know if the full 1+lb extra wt of a T3 hunter is the way to go. Price sure is tempting.
The new T3X are running over $650 these days....

Prices like that make me want to buy one just because...

But I already have that nice LH 77 .30-06 that RJ Renner reworked for me plus two LH Model 70's in .30-06, so one of these would be real redundant (quadradundant?).

I was just hoping that Ruger was doing some limited runs like they did for the LH stainless .308 and .223's from a few years ago, and maybe a patient guy could pick up one in a chambering he snoozed and loozed on back when Ruger discontinued them as regular production rifles.

Of course, I could get a new blue and wood '06 at a terrific price, rebarrel to a .275 Rigby which ain't a terrible fit in that action, send that to RJ for his English stalking rifle treatment...hmmmmm.... wink

Pondered for 2 hours this afternoon and went back to buy. Went from 19 at Davidson's and buds to 0. Missed out. Looks like they got snapped up by a dealer or reseller. Have to watch GunBroker it CDNN to see if they pop up for $100 more.

Hard to say where they came from. I just bought an All Weather Hawkeye .223 that the dealer found in the backroom, just in time for me because I was about to "settle" for sonething I didn't really want.

I checked my link again which is a search for "ruger 37130" and whereas yesterday it returned five separate listings, this morning they are all gone including the two from Bud's as you mention. That $515 price was hard to pass by, so like you I wonder where they will show up and for how much. Maybe CDNN did pick them up and will blow them out at $499.99 like they were doing for some other Hawkeyes... wink

Found them.

Angler's Nook bought them, they are for sale on gunbroker for $560 starting bid, $585 buy it now with $35 shipping. Not near as good as Bud's price but not a complete ripoff either. At least you can look at some crappy, poorly lit pictures of the exact one you want to buy.

Link to gunbroker search or you can just search for "ruger left 30-06"

If I was suffering from that particular handicap, I'd be all over one of those. Can't think of a nicer rifle in that price range, or a better one.

Up a little from several years back at CDNN but not going to get cheaper. Been paying N of $440 for the LH RAR up here. Have to many 06,s or I would buy one.

Was re-reading my last post and it sounds more negative than I meant. The prices are indeed very good compared to new right hand Hawkeyes which are going for the high $600 range or even into $700. I do wish they had bothered to do more than take glarey flash pictures of the rifles but even that is better than buying one sight unseen.

I'm like a moth to a flame when it comes to nice LH blue/walnut rifles at good prices but just can't justify a fourth .30-06.

Checked CDNN this evening and all 19 that were in Davidson's are now at CDNN for $499 with $20 shipping. Needless to say there are now 18 left. I doubt they will go much lower than $499. Can't look that gift horse in the mouth, too good of a deal to pass up a second time.

Still basically the same price. Buds charges like $11 for insurance plus credit card fees. CDNN charges $20 for shipping but tosses in a free sling.
Very tempting, but have no use for it.
