From the light research I've done, it's nearly impossible to find dies to reload. And bullets are an issue too but some of you have cast? I'm set up for casting too. I need recommendations of anyone that makes customer dies to order and suggested molds for reloading! I am no expert on Savages but I believe this is a 99H made in 1913. SN 145720. This rifle came with 28 rds of 22HP and a couple of shell casings. I added the Marbles tang. If you'd be so kind, what should I insure this for? I use Collectibles for all my guns but need a $ amount. I am not selling this one! Thank you once again for all your help. That's a great honest rifle, congratulations. Look for 5.6x52r dies and brass they're still being made. Check out Buffalo Arms for .227 projectiles, or hook up with Gnoahhh about casting your own. Go shoot the pees out of it! https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/dept/reloading/dies/22-savage-hp

Excellent, thank you Jeff! Do you reloaders recommend just neck sizing this brass after an initial full length resizing (Post - firing in the chamber) ?

Round up an old Lyman 228367 mold, and size them to fit the throat. After that it's pennies per shot. Buy .25-35 brass to make your cases out of. All the die makers list .22HP dies. Jacketed bullets are where you find them- start beating the bushes.

Awesome! Buffalo Arms gets a big chunk of my paycheck as I'm a black powder cartridge reloading/shooter too. THanks again Jeff! We're meeting with our builder of our Montana cabin overlooking Flathead Lake on Nov 2 so I'll swing by there in Idaho since it's on the way from where we live in WA state. That will save me $14 shipping!

I am reloading for .300 savage, two more sets of dies on order! Left to right, Savage 22HP, Savage 250-3000 (that was it's official name) and Savage .300

All you need is a 303 and you can start working on your Savage cartridge grand slam. That's where you get a big game animal with each of the four Savage cartridges. David

Ha, good plan David! We did bring back (from the estate sale) an 1899B (octagonal barrel) in .303 with a broken stock but it's already spoken for by a local guy.

Savage made a lot of 303's in the early years. You shouldn't have any problem finding a good shooter. David

I picked up a 1926 F take down in 303 a few years ago. I'ts one of my favorite rifles, but some how keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the pile on hunting days, Joe.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

The Marbles Tang, looks pretty interesting on that gun. You take a mighty fine picture, of a great old gun.

Really neat old rifles. I haven't used mine a lot, but I sure do enjoy it!

Thank you gents. Malcolm,The Marbles is brand new. The original Lymans from the era are way too expensive for my tastes and this Marbles was free! We'll test it on the range with the other rifles this Saturday. It's going to be a Savage day! Left to right, .22HP, .250-3000, .300 and .308 I've got reloads ready for the .300 and .308. Still waiting on bullet components for the other two calibers.
