I couldn't stand it. I called Bill Goodman and the .45-100 will be headed my way.

My father bought the Quigley version in 45-70. It is a hoot to shoot! Best time I've ever had with a big bore. Congratulations!

Congrats! Shiloh actually put 7 rifle on the rack for sale the day I visited in Aug. And online. Doubt any are left.

Goodman was a name given to me if "I was in a hurry" to buy.

My first Shiloh was a Hartford with some upgrades that I ordered through Mr. Goodman. Got to have it built like I wanted (or could afford) and got it in a couple of months

Pacecars...nice rifle you got there.

Yeah Biebs, we need some details on the 'Big 50'. You gonna stuff it full of FFFg and let 'er rip?

Yup, I've got 12 lbs of KIK FFG and FFFG waiting. Gunner500 has a 50-90 as well, so I'll see what's worked well in his and go from there. It's a #1 Sporter, 30" octagonal barrel, Pewter nosecap, upgraded wood, shotgun butt, and both barrel tangent sights as well as a tang-mounted ladder sight. Should be fun!

If you feed that .50 with a good bullet it will do more then expected for you. I have one that has been shot more then all rifles I have combined and it looks like it was drug behind a runaway horse but nobody could buy it from me.
What is the twist you ordered?

Not sure on the twist, I bought it unfired from a collector. I'll run a tight patch through it before I start deciding on bullet length and weight.

Biebs, the original Big 50 used a 473 grain PP slug. The new guns are usually seen with a tighter twist because some guys use 600 t0 700 grain bullets. Pow wow with Kurt. He has the knowledge and experience.

ET, it is a recent build, so i imagine it will handle the heavy greasers like I plan.

Is your original carbine a .50-70?

I have two Shilohs, a 45-70 and a 50-70. They are fun to shoot. With the 45, I have shot two antelope and an elk. With the 50, just a hog.

511 grain paper patch bullet over 81 grains of Kik 3F. The first 10 shot group was 2 1-2 inches at 100 yards

And yes I forgot to put my shooting glasses back on

Sorry for the slow reply, Ed. My High Wall? no it's a .45-90. It was customized by someone in the past
