I'd also like to point out that I spelled unnecessary without spell check, so I have that going for me. Which is nice.

If you can do what you need to do with an 85-100gr bullet then the 6C is great. I prefer the 6.5 for bigger critters, though.
I won’t even attempt to spell...that word... until I’ve had at least one more cup of covfefe this morning. ☕️

Barrett could beat Hornady and Ruger to the punch and introduce a 6.5 PRC. Or the 7mm Creedmoor Gotta admit that's genius thinking David... Don't know why anyone would want a 7/08 in a 3" box anyhow. That'd be so 2005ish....

Well, we have made it so easy for SAS to figure out what we want... Right now it looks like he could sell about - 8 - 284 wins 10 plus 6.5 creed with #2 contour 12 plus 280/280 ai with #2 23 " barrel😉 13 brown stocks with red pads Several saum/wsms on an action Barrett does not yet make Several left hand versions on an action that Barrett does not yet make, much to the dismay and veritable agony of some of our left handed members A bunch of other random one off guns that he would sell one or two of ... And a partridge in a pear tree. I suspect SAS has been in touch with Barrett and will be getting back to us soon, but based on the original stipulations of the offer, I wouldn't be holding my breath for any mags or lefties ..., yet. Regardless of the outcome, I'd like to thank SAS for his continued willingness to bring us these special offers (aka heard cats!)

Was that the 7.62x39 request? I agree on the hats off to SAS and Barrett. Pretty cool to not only offer, but to ask for input on what to offer....even if it goes off track.

No, that was the two turtle doves. This was the partridge ... I would like a 223-300 weatherby in a short action with a mountain rifle contour barrel and yellow stock.

With a case base to shoulder of 1.56" on the 7mm-08 and a bullet length of 1.54 on a 180 ELD-X, a 3" box would make a 7mm Creedmoor mute in a Barrett. well done!

Been toying with building a .284 win for a number of years.

I've been out of town with the family all week. I'll touch base with them next week and report back.
I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!

And the SAUM has LESS recoil than the 7-08 with "Heavies"
my calcs show 7mm08/160/175 to have 84% of the free recoil of 6.5saum/140

JBM shows the SAUM at about 1-2% less. I ran it with a 150 IIRC.

Can anyone w a threaded 18-in. threaded 6.5 Creed Fieldcraft please tell me diameter of shoulder behind the threads, and distance from muzzle to stock tip?
Considering selling stuff to mate one to an Amtac over-muzzle can; wanna make sure it'll work.
Thanks!

Reran it and got 19 vs 23 ftlbs so the SAUM has 4 lbs more recoil. In the end, what’s hilarious is the idea that 23 ftlbs of recoil is unpleasant. For my 6 year old...maybe.

I like this one in 6.5 CM. donsm70 6.5 CM with a #2 contour using that stock would be excellent. I would be sorely tempted with that configuration. I'd be tempted as well
