I don't give a hoot about stock or pad color. I probably wouldn't buy a 284. I don't want something with no factory ammo available.

The most practical option is the 6.5 Creed because of great factory ammo. Just do it in a #2 barrel with a couple different color combo's and pad colors for the color conscious among us.

I tell you what would really sell like hotcakes. Do the above and offer a locking bolt safety.

Completely agree on the locking safety. In .280, of course!

Clear as mud! grin Really making it easy on Darrik...thanks by the way.

Very cool that Barrett is interested in doing something like this. May have been better for them to tell us what they were going to offer and see if enough were interested in it rather than asking though.

I'll go back to recommend the simplest options: offer a 6.5 and .308 using the slightly heavier/longer long action contour barrel. No extra parts orders and overhead, everything is already in house. Common chamberings that shouldn't be hard to get rid of if they have extra's.

I don't care about stock/pad color enough to add extra cost and overhead........but fushia with a chartreause pad would be an eye catcher. whistle

What does the 284 offer over a 7mm-08?

.284 would be cool but if you can only get 8 sold on this forum you'll never sell 50 anywhere else. If selling 50 is the determining factor, then .280 (with an option to have it reamed to AI) is really the only option unless you want to go with a caliber already offered. I personally wouldn't waste a custom run on an existing caliber.

As a limited edition, a short action in 358 WCF with a 21" bbl. would be fun or a long action 280 Rem. with a 23" bbl.
The original stock would work as is.

Offer a variety of stock color and designs may be the way to go. Seems to work for Nula.

Agreeing on cartridge, barrel length and weight is a hard sell.

This schit is always fhuqking funny...because The Paper Hat Brigade comes flyin' outta their closets, wearing shiny new Tinfoil Hats and doing their BEST. Congratulations?!?

Firstly, the SOLE inherent advantage of the S/A Fieldcraft is COAL latitude,in a Light Done Right platform. Full stop, end of story. Hint.

[Linked Image]

Feed it the best brass on the Planet, the best boolit in the bore size(147 ELD) and simply let it Smooch SAAMI throating, while granting land chasing opportunity. I get it,that nobody gets it and Window Lickers are in an all out race to fhuqk such simplistic mechanical inherent advantages up. FUNNY schit!

This schit ain't Rocket Surgery.

[Linked Image]

HILARIOUS to me,that the same cast of CLUELESS Fhuqks, are in a hurry to Out Dumbfhuqk one another, with asinine bullschit Fluff. Though in fairness, they can only do their "best",with what incredibly little they have to work with. Laughing!

Now there was a time when the 284Win woulda called me in said platform, for a Killing Rifle. Today boolits have changed too much, that I'd not be willing to trade that much COAL disadvantage(increased case length),over a 7-08. Better yet,I'd want a 7 Kreedmire,if only to bank more of same and as a dedicated 162/180ELD Launcher for Killing. Starting velocity do not interest me,nearly as much as arrival velocity and wind slippin' abilities. Hint.

Easy for me to say,if only because I shoot it all. Prolly some 162's here. I may shoot 25-284 and 6-284 too. Hint.

[Linked Image]

The 6 Kreedmire is an exceptionally nice chambering and the 3" box wouldn't piss me off there. I've got 'em in 7" and 8" both...and would prefer 7" in sumptin' Fieldcraft-esque.

5th from far left of frame.

[Linked Image]

Such a platform would scratch all itches, for everybody. The Ping Pong Ball Dumbfhuqks could do their thing and the astute could trump same...all within' identical platforms. Hint.

[Linked Image]

I VERY much enjoy how The CLUELESS are always in a hurry to fhuqk up balance/handling,by slamming more contour aboard. FUNNY schit!

I don't shoot as many Flyweights as they "do",though I certainly shoot a whole fhuqk of a LOT more of 'em. Not so subtle HINT. Laughing!

The 6BR muse is an attraction that I savvy, but it's long suit is,that it don't need a long suit. She's mooter than fhuqk in a 3" box and it's foolish to ask a Manufacturer to hamstring themselves in sucha way.

Anywhoo...I appreciate the EPIC Humor this morning.

Never been tough to cypher who shoots and who don't.

Bless your hearts.

Wow +P+!!!!...................

A SA 284 win with a 22-23" #2 barrel would have me ponying up. How limited you reckon SAS? Think there'll be a couple dozen or so?

For what it's worth, I know a short while back Mr. Forbes was recommending against the 284 Winchester.

It's FAR more intelligent than those yapping for a 284. It's a bastard case that does nothing in today's world except give guys that enjoy saying shict like 'I have a 284 Winchester'

More people voted for Obama than didn't. So WTF is your actual point?
