So, at $550 bucks plus 15 dollar transfer fee (after rebate) is it a no-brainer to grab one?????

Savage LRH 6.5 Creedmoor $550 bucks

I have the Savage 10 FCP-SR. 24” heavy barrel, 10 shot magazine, threaded barrel. I like it. I have a 308 hog hunter. Both very accurate!!

That sounds like a good deal. I’m loading 120 Barnes for the Creedmoor.

Best of Luck with it Mark....

I love that last quote tho....

I wonder how many guns have been sold on the idea of "why NOT?"

They were selling Howa Lightnings over at Sportsman's Warehouse for $330...

The guy behind the counter was blown away when I didn't want the 6.5 Creedmoor he was holding up...

I picked up a 243 instead.... yet he kept telling me how much better and more I could do with a Creedmoor...

That I've been shooting a 260 Rem for 20 years now, didn't seem to deter him in still trying to push it...

I'm sure he really had no idea of the difference....

Enjoy that Savage tho!

I'm thinking of getting one too instead of the 12FV. Wish they had the 6.5x284 in stock, but will probably pick up the 6.5cm.

Do WHAT better?

.243 is a great round. I didn't see a deal like this on a 243 though, it's only the 6.5CM.

Plus, 6.5CM is built to work well with high BC bullets from a magazine.

And I already have a Howa hunting rifle in that caliber, so I have dies, brass etc.....

Does this rifle have a detachable magazine, or floorplate?

Is the Savage 11 a true short action?

If it is not a true short action, can it be changed to a long action (bolt stop, different magazine, etc?)

Hinged floor plate. True short action.

I picked it up, and am rather pleased with it for the price. The rebate process was also nice and quick. Hopefully it will be like the Winchester rebate I got on an SX3 shotgun where it arrived in a few weeks, not like the S&W Shield fiasco where it was months. My wife loves when I give her a rebate check and ask her to cash it and keep the cash for purse money. It almost makes her forget how much I spent to get the rebate......

I got one of the Weaver Super Slam 6-30x56 scopes at Natchez for under 700 bucks with a 10% off and free shipping, and it has Jap glass from LOW, so it should be a pretty sweet "budget" steel banger for the 1200 yard range by my cabin. I'm just mounting it with an EGW 20MOA base and Burris XTR signature rings to allow for a 100 yard zero with most of the elevation left and centered windage.

It's a great deal for sure.

I had one quite a while ago in 6.5x284, and as I recall I paid more than $700 for it.

If I hadn't pre-ordered one of Whitakers Tikka T3X earlier, I would be all over it.

A different style rifle for sure, but I don't have the access to shooting long range that you do.

I keep thinking that down the road I would like to put together a switch-barrel rifle, so that is the reason for my question.

Yeah, the ability to change barrels makes the savage appealing to me for long-range fun rifles.

I don't know why the 6.5 creedmoor is that price. My box had a $999.00 price sticker on it. The accustock doesn't suck too bad either.

It is a bargain for sure at that price.

If I had more use for a 6.5 Creedmoor on a long range rifle platform, I'd be buying one.

I just had a friend new to guns buy one of these and ask me to recommend a scope for him for about $200. I told him to wait until Black Friday, stretch a little and pick up a SWFA SS 6X. I am about 100% I made the right scope choice as far as quality, just don't know if he will like it or not.

What would be some good inexpensive rings to go with that combo?
