My choice is simple. The only thing I own that is legal to use on this year's tag is a TC Seneca .45 caliber. It will either be firing 245 grain conicals with 70 grains of FFg or .440", 127 grain PRBs with 65 grains of FFg .. my most accurate load with either bullet / ball. Next year I'll be back to contemplating choices.

I have a hog hunter and suppressor also. That cheap rifle is amazingly accurate. I think I’m using 11 grains of Trail Boss and a 170 grain partition. It hammers hogs. Fun to shoot those light loads.

S&W 629 Classic 5inch shooting 245gr cast and 296. IA changed laws this year and I have yet to obtain an 'IA legal' deer rifle but have access to a Marlin 1894 in 44mag and an 1895 in 45-70 if I want to borrow them. Contemplating a RAR in 450 Bushmaster as the most likely bolt-action candidate. I envy you guys who can use any rifle that strikes their fancy to hunt deer.

What are you guys and gals gonna be shooting this year? cartridges and bullets too please. I plan to carry: 50-90 Sharps 715 gr paper patch bullets 45-110 Sharps 530 gr paper patch bullets 1886 45-70 505 gr flat nosed greasers 1886 40-65 250 gr flat nosed greasers 40-65 Sharps 400 gr paper patch bullets 58 cal Hawken patched round ball Stainless syn rifles in Ruger Hawkeye 358 Win with 200 gr TTSX's or Kimber Montana 280 AI with 175 NPT's for rainy day hunting. It's been a long summer, I'm ready to go hunting. You're going to carry all those? I heard you were a big strong guy, but dang! Fun thread. I'll be carrying my faithful 25-06 Rem 700 CDL, topped with a 6x Leupold. Handloaded 115 gr Nosler "Blue Cyclone" Ballistic Tip bullets at 3120 fps, zeroed at 200 yards. It's a well proven combo, and I surely do love hunting with it. Mostly for mule deer. Best of luck all! Guy

Primitive season...CVA Single Shot in 35 Whelen/Federal Fusion/200 gr.
Rifle season...Ruger 77/tang safety/257 Roberts/Nosler Trophy Grade/110 gr. Accubond Ruger 77 Hawkeye/264 Win. Mag/Undecided Ruger 77/tang safety/6MM Rem./Undecided
Hope to use all of these for this season, IF I can leave the little Marlin XL7 in 25/06 at home; and that has been very hard to do these last 5 or 6 years.

My son will be hunting with a Sedgley Sporter in .220 Swift with 48 grain Winchesters. I'm interested to see what that combination does.
