Hi all my question is did winchester offer a low wall musket stock checkered I recently received 2 low walls both musket style stock both 22 cal one short one lr but one is checkered very nice wondering if this is a factory option I am sorry I don't know how to post pic thanks for any help
Short answer, yes. Maybe. At that time, with Winchester, anything was possible on special order. Hard to give an opinion without pictures. Depending on year of manufacture a factory letter might tell.

If it was well done it's prob not original....most Winchester checkering on standard rifles was pretty poor....supergrade stuff was nice....but that ara quality was way more important...people were generally more skilled and labor costs were not as big of issue as in later years...
