over the last 55-60 years i have had almost every kind of lever action 22 made pass through my hands.
yesterday my new neighbor told me he had one with about 15 rounds through it that he was going to get rid of so he could buy a hand gun
well i had a 9mm laying around unused so made the trade. the henry has the smoothest action i have ever encountered on a 22 lever. today i check accuracy.
not a fan of painted guns but it is what it is and the function is what really matters. i wish Henry would leave sharp edges on their octagonal barrels but again it is what it is.

I, too, recently acquired my first Henry. It is by far the smoothest action 22 lever gun I have ever tried. And it shots well enough to head shoot tree rats.

i shot this morning to see what brand ammo it liked. norma tac and of all things remington thunderbolt were the best with thunderbolt going .75 inch for 6 shots at 30 meters. norma was 1.5 inch. it seemed as if it got tighter the more i shot it. will just have to shoot it more and see. sweet little lever.

A lot of folks like to diss Henry's.

You'll find that 99% of them have never even fired one let alone owned a Henry.

My Frontier model 22mag with the octagon barrel will never leave my gun cabinet.
It doesn't have the craftsman ship of my old M39 but it never fails to go bang and is the most accurate 22mag I've owned.

I was pleasantly surprised with my Henry . Still prefer the build quality/shorter action throw of the BL22,but can recommend a Henry to anyone that asks about them.

My 1946 vintage 39 has had a hard life but she'll still put one in a Squirrels ear.

My wife and I both have the Golden Boys. They have very smooth actions and accuracy is good. She had trouble seeing the front sight so I replaced it with a fiber optic sight. That helped a lot. The drop on the stock is more than I prefer and a little hard to get used to. They are pretty rifles with a little bling.

Here's my Henry's. The top two are .22's and the bottom is a .44mag.. The middle one is an engraved model.

I bought a small game rifle in .22 mag a while back. It sat in the safe forever and I finally shot it last week. Shot the lids off 20 oz bottles at 25 yards every time. Smooth operation, good accuracy, nice fit and finish. Barrel band is plastic, I don't care for that but every thing else is very exceptable. Just wish ammo was more available and a little cheaper.
