Ok guys...im a full on rifle loony...but i know NOTHING about muzzle loaders. Ive got an invite this year to hunt some prime private land so its time i take the plunge.
How does the Optima cva v2 stack up? Im looking for a stainless gun thats easy to clean that shoots well.
Also...what should i look for in optics? Ive got an extra vx-3i 2.5-10 laying around...will this be suitable for a muzzle loader?

That's a good gun, and you should have no problem getting the job done with it. The Leupold should work just fine.

Optima V2 is a good rifle for the money. Probably the best deal going no matter what brand. Eye relief on your loopy is a little tight but you might be just fine.

Depending on how hot you plan on loading it, a fixed power will normally give more eye relief.

I'm a Knight guy, but a lot of guys around here are shooting Optimas and like them.
I'd put the VX-3 on it and not look back.

The Optima is a lot of rifle for such a low price. I've owned many and all were excellent shooters.

Great gun. Great scope.
Some may say 2x10 is a tad too much, but as my eyes age I'm wishing all my scopes were 3x18-50. 200 yard shots are not out of the question, so get a good scope.
