If the breaks are the same as the XMR they won't last long.

I don't know if they are or not. Why don't they last?

I didn't get the "max" which is the 2 seater but I may get another if we like this one enough. But the next one will probably be a side x side 4 seater. I have a 2014 650 Max. It's a big ATV but not near as big as a SxS and still fits on a 5x10 trailer. Quick and rides nice. No regrets on that purchase.

There are a few 50" SXS's made, Polaris RZR & Ranger and the small Honda Pioneer, maybe others that I don't know about.. My RZR 800 fits in a long bed pickup.

That's a major reason I wanted the PS. It was killing my shoulders with the full time 4x4. It's night and day different, not even comparable. The suspension is smooooth too. The nice thing about the Can-am PS is that you can adjust it between 3 different modes. I have it set on the middle. On the Max mode you can literally steer with one finger. If you do a lot of slow riding over roots/rocks/ruts PS will be a game changer. I've had a lot of 4 wheelers over the years, but I won't have another one with out PS. I haven't ridden here but in Alaska the trails just flat wore you out. I've had Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki. Never had a Can Am but that may be next. Will be between the Yamaha and the Can Am, which ever I can get the best deal on. I think you've picked a nice machine. Someone mentioned some of the machines don't have front AND rear brakes anymore, I haven't seen that. Which brands are those???

They still have front and rear breaks. It was just that there is only one lever that works both, instead of one for each. The can-am 450 has great reviews. I thought there was no light for the 4wd when it was engaged, but it turns out mine doesn't work. The 4wd does, just not the light. Easy fix for the dealer...not me.

On my much older model, I believe the foot brake works the rear brakes only while the single handle bar brake works both front and rear.
