Nice fish! I used to love fishing Strawberry when I lived in Utah but I haven't been there in years. Looks like it might be worth the trip.

Fishing there can be hot, indeed. Unfortunately, due to slot limits, it's almost completely a catch and release lake. It's rare to catch a cutthroat not in the "must release" slot. You can keep rainbows and kokanee, though. Right now is that great time between waterskiers and snow machines - a different kind of slot.

I am pretty much a “catch & release” guy anyway.
We did catch a half dozen over 22”, and a dozen nice rainbows.

Oh man, fond memories, when I was 14. In 1971 we use to fish Strawberry Res. Almost every weekend until the snow got to deep to travel thru the Unitas, caught a bunch of trout up there, got stung in the butt by a huge bumble be! Never forget that place , thanks for the pics!

Love the Berry in the Fall. A few years ago at this time We had a nice 6x6 bull elk swim across the lake to the island. Long swim and one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Fish Lake Splake are some pretty fish. My grandfather lived in Vernal UT for about 15 years. He would take me to Strawberry 3-4 time each year. Also to Flaming Gorge. Loved them both. Brings back fond memories of time spent with him. Thank you for the thread.
