I'm contemplating an LRHS. Not sure I'm willing to spend that money, but contemplating. The 3-12 seems like the mag range I would want for the application, but I'm concerned about losing the reticle at low mag in dark timber. So, the illuminated 4.5-18 makes me ask:
How is the illumination? Is it dim enough at lowest intensity? Since I'm asking and don't recall: Are there two color options, or only one? Red, correct?

I have the 4.5-18 LRTSi, which is nearly identical to the LRHS. The short version is on its highest setting it is bright daylight visible. On its lowest setting it is just barely dark night visible so it does not hinder the picture whatsoever. Bushnell got it right. The only negative is the numbers are only partially illuminated, making them unreadable. But, then again, the factory illustration does not show the numbers being illuminated at all.

John I'm curious have you checked the weight of this scope? I haven't. CTSmith weighed his 4.5-18 LRHS and was pleased to find it wasn't significantly heavier than his 3-12. John
