This is a Remington Rolling Block. It has an octagon Shilen barrel in 45-70 and will have adjustable peeps. Wood is carved by Tom Jackson as well as prep work on the metal for the Turnbull color case and Tom's rust blue. The sights are Wittek-Vaver. I picked the Vaver because they have adjustable screw in apertures. I believe I have available about 6 sizes of apertures for both front and rear sights. A blessing for old or poor eyes. It should be ready soon. It was built for a primitive buffalo hunt.

Beautiful custom coming along there, Butch! What twist is the barrel?

You ain't that old! You know that I am. The dugout cabin has electricity for my cpap machine and a RTV that looks like a horse.

Will be a beauty. I would be tempted to have the screws and pins nitre blued if you want a little glitz that is still historically fitting. I would have to at least give a paper patched load a try maybe even burning charcoal in it. Would be nice to touch off a round and when the smoke clears you see buffalo feet in the air.
More photos please.
Oops just looked again and the pins are perfect. It is nice they case hardened it as a unit and the pins got highlighted.
