In my travels I have come across two, one a 30-06 and the other a 270. Both have some cosmetic issues but both are solid mechanically and bores are good. The 270 is a Featherweight made in 1956 I think and I can get it for $350. Any reason not to get this rifle?

Better jump on that one. That is way below market value on a Pre 64 featherweight of any caliber, but especially a 270. If you don't want it, let me know where it is and I'll take it in a second.

BUY IT!!! I just sold my two synthetic stocked, pristine Fwt .270s and my similar '06 this past year to a gentleman who posted a photo of one here. These were outstanding rifles, but, with 35"higher end hunting rifles at 71, medical issues, I am selling off my guns.

I have had 43 P-64s, fine, fine rifles and used many long and hard. They always did what I needed and are FAR superior to most of the crap offered now.

$350.00 for a functional Fwt. is a STEAL, it would "part out" at more then that. DO IT! smile

Let us know how it works out. At that price, I'd be damn careful it isn't "hot," as the first person to see that rifle would grab it if it is legit.
