So I get the rifle in from Whittakers a couple of days ago, and yesterday I went ahead and applied the Dyna Bore Coat treatment to it since I use it on all of my rifles. I let it cure overnight. Lightened the trigger a smidge, and mounted the SWFA SS 3-9x42 MQ in Tikka Warne's and headed to the range today. Results are with Hornady Precision Hunter 143 ELD-X factory rounds. Quick, short summary......

1. Bore sighted the old fashioned way....remove bolt and look down tube at 25yd target. Adjust accordingly
2. Fired first sighter, moved crosshairs to intersect the POA, fired another, result was close to bull. Moved to 100yds
3. The first pic is the 3, 3shot groups that I fired. Far left was furst 3 shot group at 100. Went into .657
4. Dialed down .4mils (IIRC)-- Middle group is 2nd group fired at 100 yds. Went into .521
5. Dialed down .2mils--Right target is 3rd group fired at 100 yds. Went into .238.....RIDICULOUS!
6. Wind started howling so I went back to work. Will chrono shortly, and see if this nonsense can be repeated.

You can condense 1 and 2. Start boresighting at 100 yards and you can save time and ammo.

You just ruined my day!... I ordered a T3X in 7mm-08 this week because I didn't make the initial list for the 6.5.

If the 7mm shoots anywhere near yours, I'm going to be extremely happy.

Just shot my CTR T3 6.5 for the first time the other day. Very similar results. Actually got my best group with the American Whitetail ammo.... I'm sure the Long Range Ammo may kick in and take over at longer range, but it will work phenomenally for my use.

That's sweet. A few friends have simular results with the ELD match ammo. one from a creedmoor and the other a 260 . You'd swear by looking at the targets that they were handloads.

My 260 shoots just about identical. Had to modify the clip so I could seat the bullet out a bit. Mine is a stainless fluted T3 wood stock. Beautiful gun and unbelievable shooter. No complaints from me.

That nonsense can and will be repeated, maybe even at 200 yards.

2ndwind....

Can we bore coat mine too when I come over this weekend or Monday? I will pay you to order more bore coat. I hope you will have your gun by Monday afternoon.
Can not wait to try the 143 ELD-X ammo we just got in!! Maybe we can group from 0.400 down to 0.239 as well !!! I can only hope for that.

Fantastic grouping JGRaider! This is awesome to see.

Does Tikka make a T3X 6.5 CM in the "Hunter" version? The 143 ELD-X shoots great in a CTR.

JG.....I think it has a little to do with shooter behind the gun!!

I don't always venture out into the sub-freezing darkness, but when I do, it is deer hunting season, and I carry a Remington. Stay hungry my friends.
