I have a Tikka 22-250 8 twist and I am having some issues trying to figure out max loads using Nosler 70 RDF bullets. I called Nosler and they were not a lot of help so I was just looking to figure out what quickload had to say. Barrel is 22", bullet is 70 RDF, powders that I am using are IMR 4350, RL17, H414, and RL22. If I could get the projected max powder charge for each powder and projected velocity that would be great. Trying to figure out where the max velocity potential lies.

What is your COAL?
Is the bullet touching or jammed into the lands at your COAL?
Can you provide an average measured bullet length from your lot of bullets and an average water capacity from some cases fired in your rifle (measured level with the case mouth)? QuickLOAD defaults are often wrong.

QuickLOAD defaults: COAL: 2.350" Nosler 70 RDF length: 0.910" Maximum case capacity, overflow (H20): 43.49 grains Without the actual values for your situation these numbers aren't going to be necessarily accurate, but here it is:
Cartridge : .22-250 Rem. (SAAMI)
Bullet : .224, 70, Nosler RDF HPBT 53066
Useable Case Capaci: 39.057 grain H2O = 2.536 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.350 inch = 59.69 mm
Barrel Length : 22.0 inch = 558.8 mm
Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.
Matching Maximum Pressure: 62500 psi, or 430 MPa
or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 110 %

As far as max potential velocity, QuickLOAD thinks that RL-17 and H-414 are your huckleberries...

I recently acquired a 1-8 twist .22-250 with a 22-inch barrel, and went about selecting a powder by searching published loads, something that's pretty easy to do these days with all the on-line loads. Of course, you've got to allow a little for different barrels lengths. Partly I did this, instead of using QuickLoad, because even QL's directions say tested data is preferable.
For 70-grain bullets, the three highest-velocity powders turned out to be Big Game, Vihatvuohi N550 and Superformance. At the range Superformance won by around 100 fps, and its loads were also very accurate.

I actually switched to the 75amax and worked up a load with rl17 and was able to achieve 3300 FPS. So I got something figured out. Rl17 is looking good so far
