I was at my local pawn/sport shop the other day and became aware that the Remington Arms Company is having a sale/rebate offering on their 525 round bulk packs of hollow-point Golden 22 L.R. ammunition. Apparently you pay the asking price at your local store and then send in a request for rebates on up to 3 (three) 525 round bulk packs of $10.00 per bulk pack! This could get some ammo into your hands at about $20.00 for 525 rounds (or 3.8 cents a round!) give or take some. I was spreading the word to my friends last night who say they have seen this ammo of recent from $25.99 to $32.99 per 525 pack. So after the $10.00 rebate that makes a nifty purchase of "fair quality" 22 ammo. This offer is good until 11/18/17 (receipt date). If in fact YOU could find this ammo at retail for $25.99 then that cost of $15.99 that would put the price of these Remington Golden hollow-points at 3 cents per round. Good luck if you decide to try some - I did the 3 bulk packs myself - we'll see - I have had varying "luck" with rebates. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Just bought 1100 rounds 36 gr Federal plated HP @ Wally World for 21.99 per 550. 47 bucks out the door. Bought because I have to burn another 800 rounds of golden bullets. They are basically junk. Consistent jams, unburnt powder on the hands and face from all of my MKII pistols, jams and terrible accuracy in my 10/22’s. The only thing they halfway function in was my 77/22. Never again.

I bought a 100 ct. box the other day, simply because they were there, and I haven't bought any in decades (literally, they absolutely sucked then).
Lo and behold, when I went to the range and tried them in four rifles of known quantity, they still sucketh a mighty root.
So, with this knowledge, I can say that I'll never, ever buy any more of them. At least they're consistent, they sucked then and they suck now. They are consistent in their inconsistency. Bang, bang, boop, BLAM, They are no bargain at any price.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

My experience with Rem Golden Bullets is that they are without a doubt the worst 22 lr ammo I have encountered, dirty, inaccurate, fail to fires are common with them. I have about 800 left from when I bought any 22 lr ammo I could get, I let the grandkids plink with it - they make noise (some of the time) and kicks up dirt.

Thanks to the OP for the heads up on the rebate offer. I like many of the posters will pass on the Golden ammo from Remington in fact all Remington rimfire is a nogo for me due to past experiences.
However if one if needing rimfire ammo at a low cost and feels ok with Remington stuff the offer indeed is interesting.

Dicks had Fed Target/match 275 packs 2 for $20 the other day. I picked up a couple boxes. This stuff shoots excellent in my Cz. Yet to have one not go bang when I pull the trigger.

That's a great deal and the Federal Target has been extremely accurate in almost all of my rimfires. Wish I had known while it was still on sale.. Bob

Saw the Fed 325 packs at Walmart for 14.88. Glad to see things getting back to normal on the ammo front.
