Take a look at the Hankook Dynapro AT/M. They wear great, have good traction, and were considerably quieter than the Cooper AT3s I have on now.
I run Hankooks, but I run that tire in the other 3 seasons...
Still prefer a winter tire, I do there Winter Pike RF 11s...
they are hydrophilic rubber compound.. and can be gotten studded...
have to deal with alot of rain here in SW Oregon... but then head, east or south
and one has to deal with snow, ice etc...at altitude...
my sets on them are starting their 4th season this year...
next season will probably need to replace... but they've been great,
so will just renew with the same tire..
get mine thru Discount Tire Direct on line/ business accounts...pretty cheap to the door step..
get them mounted and balanced at Walmart or over at the college automotive program..
doing that myself, they just let me borrow the use of their equipment...since I know the
instructors...
