It's been a crazy fall, finally got a minute to toss this up here. Apologies if you've seen elsewhere. I got to spend a few days doing my very favorite type of hunt this September, a backpack trip up high for mule deer. With lots of meat left in the freezer I had a chance to be picky. I hiked in to a general unit I'd been in a couple of years ago and set up shop. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/gallery/80/medium/57036.jpg) For the first couple days the weather was kind of like this. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/gallery/80/medium/57034.jpg) I glassed when I could but didn't see much; listened to a lot of music and drank a lot of tea. I saw a few smaller bucks like this one and one decent framed deer missing a back fork. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/gallery/80/medium/57035.jpg) When the weather broke I carried on with my plan working some high basins. After finding a smaller buck bedded, this one and two others appeared.
