There's a sawmill about a mile from home and we just walked around looking for scrap pieces of live edge stuff. I cut it out with a sawzall and jigsaw, then put my boy to work with a palm sander. Finished it off with by rubbing it with mineral oil just to bring out some grain. It took about an hour to make. No two will be the same, which I kinda like.
