You guys have much experience with 6mm Remington and what makes it perk?

Mine likes 100V and NBT 95's or RE 19 and Hornady 100's.

80 gr TTSX over 47.5 grains of IMR 4350. 95gr NBT's over R22 has worked for me too.

95 grain BTips, & 115 grain Bergers in mine...

for the 75 grain HPs from Hornady, H 414...

100 grain Hornady and IMR 4350 has been working a long time for both me and a buddy. I've also dabbled with Reloder 17 and the 80 gr TTSX but haven't killed anything with it (yet). That's for deer. For groundhogs, it loves the 85 gr Speer BT and IMR 4895.

BTW, mine didn't seem to like the 95 NBT.

Mine likes 85 gr PT's over RL17.

My first 6mm was in early to mid-60’s. It liked IMR-4350. I used it strictly for varmint shooting. With Speer or Sierra 75 grain bullets it shot 1/4” 5 shot groups easily. Mauser action, Herrters varmint C grade stock Sharon barrel K6 Weaver.

A later 6mm liked Speer 100 grain boat tails - under 1/2” 5 shot grouping. However the bullets did not expand on antelope.

In my lifetime, I’ve had a couple 600 or 660’s, a seven, a Mauser, a 722, and a few 700’s in 6 mm. The 6mm Remington is a favorite of mine!!!

I recently had a couple243’s and a couple 6mm’s. I sold one of the 243’s - the other is an older model. I suspect it’s only a donor action - it shoots about 2 1/2 MOA groups. If I were to build a Creedmoor, this would be the rifle for it.

One of the 6mm’s I have has a very eroded throat. It shoots fantastic when clean. It’s won a few bench rest hunter class matches. I just Dyna Bore coated it. Hope to have a bit more life in it.

Favorite current bullets 58 grain for varmints and 95 grain SST’s for antelope. Should be good for deer too. You can never go wrong with Nosler Partitions for game bullets.

I don’t shoot competition any more.

85 grain barnes with RL19

95 grain Partitions, 45 grains of IMR-4350, 1/2"-3/4". Killed my buck this weekend with this combo, the first with it. In onside shoulder and out in front of the other, DRT.

100 grain Sierra PH same powder and charge as above. Only 1 deer with this bullet in the 6 but tons with it in a 243. DRT is the norm, same with the 100 Gameking.

My favorite load though is a Sierra 85 grain Varminter spitzer, 46-46.5 grains of IMR-4350. Absolute hammer on whitetails and coyotes. Complete penetration on broadside shots, even a few through the shoulders. Not sure why I mess with the others listed above with the way these work.

I am thinking of trying the 80 grain TTSX on a hog hunt in March.

I did try some 100V with 85s and the 70 grain Nosler Varmageddon, seemed to shoot as good as 4350, just easier for me to get the 4350. Those 70s are good medicine on coyotes for sure.

A stout load of IMR-4064 pushing a 70 grain Ballistic Tip is wicked as well. I won't list powder weight or velocities for this combo though.

6mm Rem and 100 gr nosler partition. 45 gr of RL-17 for velocity of 3300 fps. 24" barrel. Very accurate. Please work up carefully to this amount of powder.

I have used Superformance with 85 and 90 gr. bullets and gotten great speed and accuracy.

I’ve always necked mine up to .257”, loaded w/ some 100 gr bullet over Hunter, and killed stuff...

My 788 6mm likes 75 gr Vmax and A4064 for coyotes.

H380 with 55 nosler btips go 4055 in my 40x. My buddies custom 6ai does 3375 with 95 bergers and h4831. Both shoot very good.

I've had good luck with 45 R17 under 90NABs in a 22" Ruger for 3150fps and good luck with 50 R26 under 95NPTs for 3240 in a 24" Brux.

Were talking the 257 Roberts improved Eric, the 6mm Rem!!!
