I had a 6520 back a few years ago and other than it being a non marked post ban gun built right before Colt started marking them, it was all I could do to not swap it over to a flat top. I sold it and wound up buying a 6720. Same gun with a flat top and they're not marked LEO only. I put a DD A1.5 rear sight on my 6720 and love the simplicity of it.

I have an older Colt pre-ban 20" A2 rifle that is awesomely accurate. But as I get older, the eyes need a little help. It's nice to be able to throw on a scope or red dot. I would get an A4 with a removable carry handle were I doing it now.

Here is a cheaper seller: http://summitgunbroker.com/colt-ar15a2.html

I agree with the other posters; a scoped flat top is nice, but these are classic. It has the screw front pivot pin, so you can't just pick up a second upper. If you have other ARs, get it!

You've come to the wrong place to be talked out of a rifle purchase.

Only way we might talk you out of it is if we talked you into something more expensive.

Did someone mention the FN A2 classic??

Just know that they have large trigger pins and aftermarket triggers have almost dried up.

Excellent point.....and the reason I don't own any early Colts.

I would likely leave it stock. I have other AR's that have been adorned with aftermarket goodness.

Thats exactly the way I see it
Summit GB is good to deal with

Thats a good deal (well in the past it was the AR market who knows but not making those by the truck load)

Got lucky and picked up 2 SSA-E large pin triggers for $169/ea during Memorial Day sale at Primary Arms.

I would keep checking the Black Friday sales to see if something comes up.
