Just thought I would share this awesome bull my client Kenny killed in unit 7 this year. We located the bull the evening before with a herd of about 30 other elk. We knew there was no way we could make it to him and get a shot before dark so we backed out and left them until the morning.

We hiked up the drainage from the bottom the next morning, glassing periodically along the way until we found the herd. We located the herd about 200 yards down the drainage from where we last left them the night before, with the big bull still in there. We were still over a mile away, so we kept working their way. They ended up bedding in some timber before we could get into a shooting position. We snuck in to 300 yards from the timber patch and got comfortable. We waited 5 hours until they started feeding out in the early afternoon. Kenny made 3 great shots at 250 yards to harvest his best bull in over 30 elk hunting trips. Lots of high fives!

Congrats to Kenny on that monster! Do you have any caliber/bullet info for us?

Kenny was willing to bust his hump to kill a nice bull and the hard work paid off for sure. I know he was shooting a 300 weatherby and I believe 180 grain barnes votex ammo. Don't hold me to the ammo particulars though.

Sweet bull, nice mass to the antlers.

Thats a heck of a bull for sure! I'm impressed with the patience you guys had to do it right. Great job of hunting a heck of a trophy. That's one to be proud of.

What cartridge did he shoot him with?
