I have just aquired a Model 94 Antique classic 30-30 manufactured in 1976. I have had a Marlin 39-A, Marlin 1894, Marlin 339, Winchester 9417, a Savage 99EG and now I just bought a 1976 Winchester Model 94 antique Classic. So this is my first model 94. I have a question regarding the trigger. Whether my model 94 is cocked, or un-cocked, or half-cocked, the trigger can just flop around fore and aft about 1/4 - 3/8 of an inch. Is there something missing or broken? Or is this just the way Winchesters are? I know it's just a newbie question but I nee some help.

Floating in limbo, aren't ya!! "SAVAGE"
All said, the Savage 99 is a genius of a rifle. Although no longer produced, it remains highly revered, as it was the foundation from which Arthur Savage built one of America's great gun companies. >> (Jon Y. Wolfe) <<

The savage is certainly my favorite (a 1940 built rifle in .300 Savage) but I sort of like to have one of everything. Anyway, I still need some help. ![[Linked Image]](http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k95/97thSignalman/IMG_2438.jpg)

The flop is normal, for that period. When ready to shoot, lightly take up the flop, and then the trigger is relatively crisp. 1976 was probably the very low point of Winchester quality, especially for the 94. I used my lawn mowing money to buy my first new centerfire in 1976, a Win 94. I still have it.
