I just purchased a 1976 Winchester Model 94 Antique classic 30-30. I have lots of lever guns but this is my first Win 94. I notice that whether it is cocked, un-cocked, or half-cocked the trigger can just flop arond fore and aft 1/4-3/8 of an inch. Is there something broken or missing or is this just the way that Winchesters are?

Nothing wrong. The older ones designed that way. Later production angle eject, etc. they went to a trigger return spring, rebound hammer and cross bolt safety.

I much prefer the older production.
