Why do you find the taste of teriyaki objectionable? My go to jerky marinade contains teriyaki, soy sauce and worstershire in equal amounts along with other spices and I've never had any complaints. Lol...... Did you just ask him why he doesn't like the taste of something?

I prefer a dry rub. It's easier to manage the salt content (versus all kinda of salt-laden liquids like soy) and it dehydrates much quicker.
1 Tbsp course kosher salt per pound of meat 1/2 t Onion powder 1/4 to 1/2 t Garlic powder 1/2 t Ground red pepper or cayenne Pinch of Varget or H322
Coat, let sit for a bit, dehydrate.
The DIPCHIT ADD, after a morning of drinking:
You despair, repeatedly, constantly! daily basis? A despair ninny. Sack up, despire ninny.
