I saw Arlo Guthrie in ~1988 in a small intimate concert of maybe 300 people. First thing he said was “I am not going to play Alice’s Restaurant tonight”. We thought, “yeah, right”. It was the song that made him famous. And guess what? He did not play it!
The BEST part of the show was the opening act, an unknown (to me at the time) singer songwriter who performed solo with an acoustic guitar, none other than Mr. John Prine.
Played here in Phoenix every Thanksgiving. I think that they run it 5 or 6 times during the day.
James Pepper: There's no law west of Dodge and no God west of the Pecos. Right, Mr. Chisum? John Chisum: Wrong, Mr. Pepper. Because no matter where people go, sooner or later there's the law. And sooner or later they find God's already been there.
